Please join the Future Fund today. Every membership dollar raised goes straight to the community in the form of grants. The more members we have, the more money we can give back to the community! Please take a look at some of our past grant recipients and see what an impact our group has made. For those of you who have renewed or just joined us, thank you for your support.

The Future Fund announces its 2009 grants

The Future Fund awarded the following grants, totaling $27,000 and made possible by a generous matching grant from Lomax Properties:

Cove Creek Gardens: $2,500 for its Sustainable Community Gardens project

Sanctuary House: $9,000 for improved access to health and fitness services

Natural Science Center: $2,500 for its "Keeping Fit the Animal Way" exhibit

Mental Health Association: $5,000 for its "safe TALK" suicide prevention program

Girl CHARGE: $5,000 for a program for teen girls to reduce incidences of relational aggression

Women's Resource Center: $3,000 for the four-part Self Esteem Series for women and girls

Member-Sponsored Grant Applications are due December 31

One of the benefits of Future Fund membership is being able to nominate a nonprofit with which you volunteer or work for for a grant of up to $1,000. The Future Fund uses about 10 percent of its grantmaking funds to award member-sponsored grants throughout the calendar year. Member-sponsored grants are not restricted to any particular focus area.

The Future Fund will consider any proposal from a qualified nonprofit organization for a Member-Sponsored Grant. Member-Sponsored Grant proposals must be sponsored, endorsed or presented by a current member of the Future Fund.

The deadline to submit a grant application is Dec. 31, 2009, but applications will be considered as they are received -- so get yours in early! To nominate a nonprofit for a grant, download the application.

Pooling Resources to Put Philanthropic Dreams into Action

The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro offers a range of giving options to support your philanthropic goals—even as they evolve and change through your lifetime.

Our Future Fund provides an innovative alternative for those who aren’t ready to establish a Foundation fund of their own. For as little as $50 annually for students and $125 annually for adults, you can pool your resources with others in the community and put your philanthropic dreams into action.

Membership fees and gifts underwrite the Future Fund endowment and help you make a far greater impact on the community than any of us can make on our own. You’ll have a seat at the table when funding decisions are made and can sponsor grants for worthy organizations.

Special Thanks to our Event Sponsors: Community One and Natty Greene's!
