Women to Women Endowment

Women to Women is Greensboro's first permanent fund to engage women in impacting the lives of our community's women and families.

Each year, the fund will award high-impact grants to programs, organizations and projects that will creative positive and measurable impact. Our goal is to raise a $3-million endowment which will award up to $150,000 a year in large grants. In the preliminary phase of this effort, we already have raised nearly $1.7 million and will be awarding our first grant of $25,000 this fall.

We are seeking the support of women across our community to reach our $3 million goal. Women have the compassion and caring to recognize where needs exist, the generous spirit to provide the financial resources necessary to help and the visionary leadership to make the effort sustained and successful.

The public phase of our fundraising will officially launch on Thursday, Nov. 18, when we host a luncheon featuring nationally renowned journalist Lisa Ling (right). As a field correspondent  for The Oprah Winfrey Show and contributor to ABC News' Nightline and National Geographic's Explorer, Ling has reported from dozens of countries, covering stories about gang rape in the Congo, bride burning in India and the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda.

Contact Lynn Wooten (LWooten@cfgg.org) if you are interested in purchasing a table of 10 to host at this event -- which will surely sell out!

By establishing and growing this permanent funding resource, together we will ensure that Greensboro recognizes and addresses women's issues now and into the future.
