The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro administers more than 60 scholarships which are awarded each year to outstanding students, both locally and across the country. Scholarships offer fundholders a unique opportunity to directly impact the lives of youth and young adults who wish to continue their education. Likewise, the Alamance Foundation similarly awards scholarships.
The following scholarships have been awarded for 2009 by The Community Foundation and the Alamance Foundation:

- John R. Kernodle Jr. Memorial – Ashley Waldroup of Southwest High School
- Hunter Byers Memorial Award – Harrison Tyler Holbrook and Kathleen Marie Lahey, both of Grimsley High School

- Camberly Noel Holliday Performing Arts Scholarship – Robert “Beau” Emory of Western Guilford High School and Shelby Finney of Kernodle Middle School, Jordan LeGaux of Grimsley High School, Emily Siar of Greensboro Day School
- Thomas G. O’Briant Memorial Scholarship – Karley Saffer of Southern Guilford High School
- Wolfgang Häfele Memorial Scholarship—Shelby Leinen of Wilson Classical High School in Long Beach, Calif.
- The William Bryant Evans and Lucy Teague Evans Memorial Scholarship—Tyler Tran of Grimsley High School

- Human Resources Association Scholarship in Business – Michael Bennett of Williams High School and Steven Foster of Southern Alamance High School
- Alley, Williams, Carmen & King Scholarship – Andrew Champion of Western Alamance High School
- Chic Lutz Memorial Scholarship – Benjamin Maready, Marian Maready and Paige Hudson (All are adult students)
- Graham Presbyterian Church Harden Memorial Scholarship – Monica Lee Web of Graham High School
