Summertime Kids Fund supports programs, summer opportunities for children

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Henry and Shirley Frye Summertime Kids Fund at The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro supports youth programs and summer opportunities for children in greater Greensboro. The fund was established by the Fryes to provide scholarships for children to participate in summer enrichment programs. It offers assistance to low-income families who want to send their children to Greensboro Parks and Recreation summer day camps but who cannot afford to do so.

The Henry and Shirley Frye Summertime Kids Fund provides camp scholarships to Greensboro area children ages 6–12. The scholarships have traditionally funded camp days for children in four underserved neighborhoods in Greensboro: Windsor Center, Peeler Center, Warnersville Center and Glenwood Center.

The success of this partnership has been the result of contributions from area residents. Anyone can make a gift to the fund. Contributions are tax-deductible and will be used to support youth programs and summer enrichment opportunities for children in underserved neighborhoods in Greensboro.

Giving is easy. Gifts can be made by check to Summertime Kids Fund, c/o The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, 330 S. Greene St., Suite 100, Greensboro, N.C. 27401, or in person at the Foundation, 330 South Greene Street, or by credit card online at www.cfgg.org (Click on Give Online and then select Summertime Kids Fund in the pull-down menu).
