The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro is pleased to announce the publication of Comprehensive Housing Report: Greensboro 2006.
The Center to Create Housing Opportunities was selected to conduct the study in view of its experience in multiple aspects of housing and community development. Gary Paul Kane, of Greensboro, is the report's author. (For a downloadable copy of the report, please click on the icon below or, for a printed copy, call the Community Foundation at 379-9100.)
The report inventories previous successes, analyzes capacities of current housing providers, identifies unmet needs, and suggests opportunities for collaborations, key projects, and leveraging of resources. The report focuses on the most important housing needs or gaps in Greensboro. Community forums, 50 personal interviews with Greensboro housing professionals and advocates, and analyses of existing documents were conducted for the study.
On January 25, 2006 the Foundation held a press conference to officially release the report. Highlights from the report will also be presented at the annual Housing Summit presented by the Greensboro Housing Coalition on January 31. The Community Foundation offers this report to the community with the hope that it will be useful to all those involved in housing.
