Alcohol and Drug Services
$5,000.00 for strategic planning to help guide the agency as it adapts to the State of NC mental health reform guidelines
Green Hill Center for NC Art
$5,000.00 for the Toshiko Takaezu: the Art of Clay Exhibition, a centerpiece for a new Cultural Tourism Initiative.
Greensboro Chamber of Commerce
$2,500.00 for a "credit camp" designed to raise the credit scores of 30-40 small business owners per year to a level that is considered acceptable to banks allowing them to borrow money.
Guilford County Schools
$1,500.00 for support the Automated External Defibrillator Initiative which seeks to purchase Automated External Defibrillators for each of its schools and larger administrative offices, this grant made in honor of Dr. David Olin.
Housing Greensboro
$10,000.00 to support the mission of the program to make homes warmer, drier, and safer, funding will assist the program in repairing 35-40 homes of low and moderate income owner occupants during 2007.
Joseph's House
$10,000.00 for support for the Young Adult Homeless Assistance Program.
Kopper Top Life Learning Center
$2,500.00 to provide scholarship funds for children with special needs to attend Camp FreeSpirit
Legal Aid Society of NC, Inc.
$7,500.00 for reaching out to families and saving homes, educate clients on how to use the law to fight unfair business practices
NC 4-H Development Fund
$1,000.00 to sponsor middle school aged youth in Greensboro to attend Camp Challenge. A camp co-sponsored by the NC Bankers Association that teaches life skills.
NC Interfaith Power and Light (NC Council of Churches)
$2,000.00 to educate faith based communities in Guilford County about global warming and develop awareness of religious and ethical obligations to care for creation
North Carolina Campus Compact
$5,000.00 to support the capacity of the collegiate network and promote civic engagement in order to unite campuses, empower students
North Carolina Theatre for Young People
$2,400.00 in collaboration with McGirt-Horton Library, this project will create themed pre-literacy and creative play story time kits for preschool teachers and childcare providers.
SPCA of the Triad
$3,472.00 to increase the capacity to provide low cost and free stray/feral cat spay and neuter services to residents of Greensboro
Special Olympics North Carolina
$5,000.00 to support children and adults with intellectual disabilities from the Greensboro area participating in Special Olympics year round sports training and athletic competition programs.
Summit House - Piedmont
$5,000.00 to provide funding the increase the organizations capacity to print brochures, manuals, fliers, reports and pamphlets to aid in their fundraising efforts.
The National Conference for Community and Justice of the Piedmont Triad (NCCJ)
$4,000.00 for implementation of the strategic plan
Triad Health Project
$2,500.00 to support the ongoing coordination of volunteer activities through agency's HIV/AIDS client services
UNCG Teens and Tots Summer Program
$5,225.00 for intensive summer camp for adolescent mothers and infants that supports mother-child positive relationships and communication a collaborative program between UNCG, NC A&T, YWCA, Greensboro Parks and Recreation and Greensboro Public Library
Women's Resource Center
$5,000.00 to support the Gateway to Community Resources Program, which connects women to community resources and information
