K for Kids turns strike-outs at the Greensboro Grasshoppers games into camp days.
A unique partnership that raise funds for the Henry and Shirley Frye Summertime Kids Fund and creates opportunities for every child in greater Greensboro to attend summer camp.
By pledging a dollar amount to each time the Greensboro Grasshopper strikeout an opponent's player – You are helping a kid get one step closer to attending summer camp. 100% of your pledge will go to the Summertime Kids Fund. During the season, the Grasshoppers average between 300-400 strikeouts.
The Henry and Shirley Frye Summertime Kids Fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro support youth programs and summer opportunities for children in Greensboro. The Fund was established by the Fryes to provide scholarships for children to participate in summer enrichment programs. It provides assistance to low-income families who want to send their children to Greensboro Parks and Recreation summer day camps, but who cannot afford it. Last summer, the fund provided 4,500 camp days (valued at $14,000) for children ages 6-12 to attend Greensboro Parks and Recreation Summer Camps.
With the vision of expanding the impact of this Summertime Kids Fund, the Greensboro Grasshoppers, the Greensboro Jaycees and the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro have partnered to create the K 4 Kids Campaign.
