Congratulations to Community Game Changer Paige Cox with Reconsidered Goods

Congratulations to Community Game Changer Paige Cox with Reconsidered Goods

Paige Cox founded Reconsidered Goods in 2016 to reduce waste through reuse. She realized that a huge amount of materials that artists could use end up in the landfill each year. Starting in 2016 as a pop-up funded through an Action Greensboro Spark grant, Reconsidered Goods has now opened a retail store with a workshop space, a maker’s lab, gallery space, and a community room for artists to meet and create together. Paige has created an innovative place for manufacturers and individuals to divert materials from the landfill by donating them so they can be put into the hands of artists, makers, teachers and kids to create something new. She is a creative and visionary artist with a passion for the environment who sees art in the every day. Reconsidered Goods is one of just 42 creative reuse centers in America.

Last January alone, Reconsidered Goods was able to divert 4,784 pounds from Greensboro’s waste stream. The items were sorted, sold for reuse or diverted to great organizations like Guilford Education Alliance and Freedom House Thrift. Classes are held regularly bringing the community together to create and bring new life to items destined for the trash bin. Learn more at reconsideredgoods.org.

Paige is making an impact in our community in an area that was not previously being addressed. She is truly a game changer.
